SAMPLE FEEDER EXERCISE:
SOC Exercise
Pick your favorite three sentences
WRite down a monologue using the three sentences.
Erase the first two sentences of your monologue and edit around 10-15 words from it
Create a dialogue script using this format:
A: [use last sentence of your monologue
B: leave a chunk of space blank
A: [write the rest of the monologue
On top of the first sentence, write what B says that makes A say that sentence.  Your script now looks like this.
B: [new chunk]
A: [use last sentence of your monologue
B: leave a chunk of space blank
A: [write the rest of the monologue
Exchange scripts with partner.  Partner now writes where they are, who they are and names them and writes B’ words in between
[SOME RULES WE DEVELOPED FOR THE PROJECT]
THREE PEOPLE AT A TIME EVERYDAY:
- you have five minutes to read the material
- set the timer for ten minutes.
- You can edit at will (add, change, delete, etc.) but you only have ten minutes to do it.  You cannot stop and think during those ten minutes.
- you have five minutes more to make minor deletes or adds.
ONCE A WEEK
Every person that swarms has to find someone WHO IS NOT A STUDENT to either look over the play and make changes for 10 minutes that is not a student (sibling, parent, etc.)
Everyone has a conversation with a chosen person (recorded without their knowledge) for two minutes. At the 90 second mark, write down what was said.
Everyone has to contact one professional or semi professional (in the business). Allow them to add or delete for 30 minutes. Cannot add any more pages.
AND THE MAIN RULE....
DO NOT INFLUENCE OTHER EDITORS, DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT, DO NOT RUIN HOW ORGANIC THIS ISs.
